The annual General Relief Society Meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of my favorite nights of the year. I love the opportunity that we have to get together with all the women of the church and be reminded of what a great organization the Relief Society is and that we each have a divine purpose.
My favorite parts:
- Sister Julie B. Beck sharing that a history of the Relief Society would be made available next year and her emphasis on the importance of knowing the history of Relief Society in order to better understand its purpose and impact in our lives today.
- Sister Silvia H. Allred reminding us about the importance of eternal families.
- Sister Barbara Thomson giving inspiration to improve my visiting teaching efforts.
- President Thomas S. Monson, going from laughter to tears as he shared stories about some of the women who have affected his life before teaching us why it is so vital for us to remember not to judge other people.
I love hearing the inspired messages of the leaders of our church, and I am looking forward to this weekend when I will get to enjoy General Conference. Don’t be surprised when you start seeing me post my notes here over the coming weeks.
